Hi there.
I have been offered a teaching post at the Huapei Foreign Language School, Yuxi, Yunnan Provience. If anybody has any information or advice about the school and the Yuxi area it would be most appreciated.
Many thanks in anticipation of any replies.
Cheers. gr8_bear |

usually it is hard to judge a place by the rep of the school - cos its either unreliable or no one has heard of the school - cos there are so many of the schools in china!
tell us a bit about the offer of their contract to you , i.e. how much cashey are they offering you, how many hours u need to work and stuff like wot else is provided for you, e.g apartment and flight reimbursements |

I do not know anything about YUXI, and it might be a good idea to just sit still and be quiet, yet I feel tempted to take part in the discussion because most of us fancy a stint in Yunnan province.
Almost any job in that province that has been discussed so far was in Kunming. Outside the capital, the province is dirty poor, and I cannot imagine that a smallish town has the green light and the funds to hire an expat.
Yunnan is the only place in China where a principal tried to fleece me (in fact he succeeded in making me buy a gold pin for him, and he refused to live up to his promise of hiring me - many years ago before corruption became really big!).
It might be a good idea to share with us the contents of your contract! |
