Hi there naturegirl, I am planning on heading down to Peru this May. I would like to teach in Lima, and maybe after getting some experience there head up to Trujillo and teach. I have a degree but no working experience or certification. I have 5 years experience in the IT industry.
Do you think it will be tough to find work in Lima under my circumstances.
Just curious, what are your monthly living expenses in Puira, I heard Lima is kind of expensive, i was just wondering if it is possible to live reasonably comfortable in Lima teaching ESL. I know hiring is at its peak in Mar/April, will i miss the hiring if i come in May??
Thanks for all your information, and congrats on your upcoming marriage. |

You should have no problem finding a job, Lima is huge and there is a demand for native teachers, just don't expect to make a fortune.
Rent for me is 100 dollars, the same apartment in Lima would be 300. In Lima you will be spending a lot on transport thought.
There are always jobs, but you will have to look harder in the off season.
See the job list, the link is below. |
