Hi!

Has anyone ever lived or visited Quevedo, Ecuador? How about Green Hills School in that town? Anyone ever taught there, or heard anything about it?

Muchas gracias!!!

Hey Gingerlady, have you been dealing with Janet from Centro Educativo? She seems like a really nice woman. I considered the position there and could not find any info on it for the life of me. It's probably an amazing place/position.

Quevedo is a small town in the middle of Bananaland. I'd rather answer specific questions, rather than give opinions blindly. I lived there for a year and a half. I also lived in Guayaquil and Otavalo and have extensive visits to Quito and Cuenca.

hate to be a pessimist, but whenever practising superlatives, my students always gave the example of quevedo being the ugliest place in Ecuador... taking into account the monstrosity of Latacunga, that's saying something!

Lago Agrio is uglier than Quevedo.
So is Puyo.
Come to think of it, Santo Domingo de los Colorados isn't much to look at, either.

Cities, and I use the term loosely, in Ecuador tend to be about as ugly as sin. The area around most of them is gorgeous, though, and this certainly goes for Quevedo. Many of our cities and towns are interesting, but the way the urban explosion and urban development have happened doesn't leave much to look at. Quito is pretty ugly, in most places. But 20 minutes out of Quito, the country can be beautiful.

It's a stunning country. But Cuenca is the only truly attractive city, and it's a bit small and slow for my taste. Rio Bamba isn't bad, if your boredom threshold is pretty high.

Regards,
Justin
