Hey guys!! after long pondering and careful thought i have decieded that Taiwan is the way forward!

As i will be getting a job from here in the UK, i thought going with a compay would be best! I am very much interested in 'HESS' and other companies/organisations like that! does anyone know of anymore or even a website with them listed on?? Also, where is it best to look for those kind of jobs for Taiwan?

As i do not graduate untill the summer, i was wondering if i could apply for jobs now or do i have to wait to be given my degree certificates (as this could not be till Sep time! I will have my transcripts in July though!)

Look forward to hearing from you soon!

Schools similar to Hess include Kojen, Joy, Sesame Street, Giraffe, Jordans, and even Global Village, Davids, and Wall Street.

As for a list of schools with contact information then have a look at www.buxiban.com if you haven't already found it.

This has been asked and answered many times before. You might want to try the search function on this site to see if your answers are already here.

Your employer will not be able to process your paperwork until you have your actual diploma in hand. You will hear stories otherwise but just because a school may be willing to accept your employment prior to your certificate arriving, they will not be able to process your paperwork and therefore they will require you to work illegally intially. This is unlikely to be in your best interests. Best wait till you get your degree.

The problem has little to do with credentials or legalities as laws on Taiwan are widely ignored by the vast majority of the population living outside of Taipei. Even in the capital, laws tend to be just one big grey area that changes with the needs of the criminals.
The biggest problem most teachers are facing on Taiwan is the decreasing pay and low number of jobs caused by Taiwan's continued economic decline coupled with a drastically reduced number of students resulting from an aging population and immigration by Taiwanese families with the means.
Be prepared, get a multiple entry visa from the TECO office (what real countries call a consulate) and bring enough cash to set you up for several weeks or months depending on the job market next season.
Good luck!
A.

Wow, Aristotle, you actually posted some factual information there!!
Congratulations, it would be wonderful if you continued down this path path of reason.

However, saying that Taiwan is undergoing an economic decline would be the exact opposite of the reality.
You got about 90% of your post right, which is an incredible record for you, so I won't complain.

You can apply for jobs now. I suggest, however, that you punctuate properly when sending out resumes. I'm serious about this.

I can't even remember how many resumes I've received that lead off with something like: i am the t-cher 4-u. Drives me nuts.

If my advice is unnecessary, please ignore it. I'm not trying to preach. Just trying to save you some time.
