Really !!! No joking this is what's happening with me. Shocked

My Employer says I have No money to pay you. They are big private school with more than 2000 students. They are in debts.I have a contract and I am legally employed and possess Z visa from them.

They have told me to wait for few days.

I have never got my salary on time even if I would take this matter to Foreign Affairs. How are they going to pay the penalty ? Confused

I am stuck.

OK.

First, don't waste anytime with this...you must be with one of the big chain of language schools that is in financial trouble...just see the China Daily in this regard...

Second....if they are late this month, they will be late next month. Once rot sets in, it continues...

Third, of course you will never collect the breach -- only the employers ever collect the breach. I only know of one case in four years where an employee took the school to the Peoples' Court and one...

Fourth. this is the right season. Go find another job as quick as your feet can do it. You are on the Titanic and it is surely going down. Where there is smoke, there is fire.

That is one big reason to avoid private schools. If you have the credentials and can move to the public sector, do it...

If you need help with intro's to recruiters, good ones, PM me.

I surely sympathize...

On the other hand, hang in there for a few days and be persistant every day. You will get paid. Once you're paid. HIT THE ROAD.

Thanks ! for replies.
I got some money out of them but ofcourse I don't want to stick around if it's going to happen everytime and they would be owing me more.

From my translator who is more like a friend she said I had 2 ways.

1) Stick to job but I woudl have to keep up with delay all the time and it's not sure whether I would get the money which I am owing.

OR

2) Get new job.

I have made my decision to do so and till that time wait too.I wouldn't be happy to leave as I am not that kind of perosn. Sometimes one can't help it.

NO Training School !!! This I know from sometime and I avoid them like plague. This one is Private but it's school from kindergarten to High School with more than 2000 students and having big campus and everything. What did I do wrong by choosing this school ? I did tried to research on net.I couldn't find much. Anyways if at all I am leaving this school. The school should be black listed not because of people but their financial condition.

By the way it's not a Big Chain. I wouldn't have joined if it would be one of those branches.

Be very clear on one thing. This is not your fault!!! Many posters here will ask questions like: "are you working legally? Did you do research?" etc. Pressure them for the money and run to the job you had to have lined up allready. Now is the best time to find one. DO NOT tell them you want to leave. Then the real games and screwing will start. We all know this is unethical, but look out for number one. Good luck!!!

Me, too. But make it 6 years, in various locations (same chain) in Indonesia and China (two in China, with a total of 3 years). Never been cheated, no one even TRIED to cheat me or rip me off, and I ALWAYS even make a tiny PROFIT on taxi fare reimbursement.

The point was not the profit. The point was the care my school takes to be sure the teachers get what's due them.

So you decided to abuse that care to make a small profit for yourself. Sounds great. And we wonder why some employers don't give a **** about their staff.

Oh, for Christ's sake!
Are you just determined to make me look bad? Why? No, I do not "abuse that care." Jesus. Not that it has a bloody thing to do with you, but taxis in Dalian flip over by the tenth of a yuan. Taxi drivers choose to round down to the previous yuan and my employer chooses to round up the total. So if, say, I have two fares of 15.20, that makes 30.40. I actually paid 30, and my boss will give me 31. But there are so many individual fares involved that it's impossible to say exactly what I actually paid. The printed reciepts will total, say, 345.70 and they will give me 346 yuan. I would have actually paid something like 340, but there's no way to document that. Where's the flippin' abuse??
PLEASE. Rolling Eyes

OP: Maybe the school is not happy because you're not a native speaker of English.

Gregor: Regarding your infinitesimal 'profit' on the taxi reimbursement, good on ya!

Yes vikdk, why not look posters such as myself and Gregor. Do you ever see us posting about mistreatment, getting ripped off... The answer would be no. I am not saying that every chain school is great but there are good ones out there so let's not lump them all together.
