Do you people doing the hiring in the UAE consider the degrees to be equal when hiring, promoting and deciding which courses to assign teachers to (obviously the courses would be related to their research and exeprience)?
I ask because some people have mentioned the need for a PhD for getting the better jobs and classes to teach but haven't mentioned the EdD.
Since a Doctor of Education degree is a doctoral level degree, would it also be considered as being equal to that of the PhD degree when applying for positions in UAE?
Thank you. |

At least at Zayed University, and I think more generally as well, they are considered equally. If you have an EdD, feel free to apply for a post that's advertised as requiring a PhD. |
