Hash geldiniz TurkishLover ... and thanks dmb.
I'm not hashing much these days 'cos my one-month old baby boy takes priority in my life. That said, I think I'm still on the IH3 Mis-Management in some capacity, but our new Grand Master hasn't decided which yet.
So, you've hashed in Ankara. When? 'Cos I've hashed with them guys quite a few times. (W)ankara, as the IH3 like to call them, are seriously well-organized. Here in Istanbul, we're more into the drinking and socializing side of hashing.
I presume you've already checked out the web site on www.ih3.org . Once on the web site, for the most-up-to-date news, then click on the IH3 bridge logo ... for access to our yahoogroup.
The IH3 is a fortnightly hash ... and if I remember correctly ... are not hashing this weekend.
On on ... MB ... that's an abbreviation of my hash name |

Well I hashed a few times this past summer, but never in a row so I have no special name at this point. Really it was quite an experience: I was an all-state cross country and track runner for four years in high school and hold a few school records, so it was nothing like what i was used to, but certainly a good mixture of exercise and social enjoyment.
My sponser was a certain Cem, known as "Mad Max" because he rides a motorcycle and always wears leather when he Hashes.
I figured it would be a good way to meet some other foreigners in Istanbul, ones not connected to the underground empire of TEFLers that seem to overrun the highways and byways of the world. |

I'm afraid we DO have a few TEFLers in our ranks. I actually teach maths ... so I'm almost one of you guys :-(
Why not send a blank message to [email protected] ... to join our yahoo group. Then all the news of our runs, parties, pub crawls, "Mister Murdery" Weekends, etc will automatically be sent to your e-mail account.
By the way, I used to run for my university as well ... and when I first came to Turkey I felt that too much drinking wasn't good for my training routine ... but as time went by ... I realized that the lifting of ones elbow was a more important exercise to me than that of running :-)
On on ... MB |
