Hello. I am currently teaching English at a public middle school in South Korea. I am starting an after school English club and I would like to establish a penpal exchange with another school. Anyone interested? My students are 12-15 years old and a mixture of boys and girls. |

I did this one semester from Japan (exchanging with an ex-colleague in Saudi). I don't think I'd do it again. You need to be aware that many Gulf men (and boys) view Asian woman primarily as sex objects or at least as extremely "exotic" (like an awful lot of "westerner" men). These men (and boys) will be inclined to write things like "I love you" in every letter. I found I needed to preview the letters before sending them on to my female Japanese students. Something as simple as a school photograph can be titilating to guys raised in a strict environment of sexual separation. |
