***I probably could have done a search on this, but I'm hoping for more up-to-the date info/ an open dialogue and advice***
Hi there,
I am a US citizen with 3 years TEFL/TESL experience (2 in Korea, 1 in Africa). I have my TEFL diploma via bridge-lingutech and additional training by the US Peace Corps. I have no recent European ancestors (all at least 300 years ago), so I can't get an EU passport. Where can I teach? Any advice is also highly appreciated. Note further, money is not an issue assuming there is enough to live off of. |

The possibility of your post being a well-considered request for information having been eliminated by there being duplicate posts on at least two other non-ME forums ... (try saying that while chewing a granola bar) ... I am compelled to reply thus ...
Where can I teach?
Being a traditionalist on this topic, I would say in a classroom ... while others may prefer more open spaces ... I think generally the administration has the final say ... |

Rather than have us do your research for you, why don't you just DO that search.
Since money is no object, I'd say to follow your interests. You can find work for basic pay in North Africa or the Levant. There is also Turkey.
The Gulf requires an MA for the better employers...
Read... we've typed it all before right here on this board... relatively little has changed in relation to a response to a general question like this...

It IS a general question that was posted in other geographic boards. The reason for the multi-posting is simple- how often do you check outside of your regional boards? Speaking for us in Korea...very rarely. Futhermore, the reason for the general nature of the post, and the reason that I asked instead of digging through the posts of old, is sometimes one can get "new" information. Old posts and information pages found on the web often have biases (general www) or backstories (old posts here) that a 3rd party (myself) may not be aware of. While new responses would also be beset with biases and backstories, I am more likely to have a chance to ask for clarification on any misunderstood points. I DO appreciate the information given thus far |
