Hi all.

If you want to just skip the snot and get to the question it's at the bottom. For those of you with serious time to waste and a high boredom threshold I've written a short intro to myself.

I've taught English for 8 years in Indonesia (a mixture of Australian curriculum, EFL and for the last 2 years IB MYP) and 1 year of EFL in Taiwan. That's why I'm hanging around these boards.

I have 2 kids (4 and 2) and an Indonesian wife and I'm so sick of Surabaya and working that I've quit my job at an international school and decided to take a year off teaching and just play online poker.

I'm a winning player and can depend on a small income (1.5k a month). I also have sufficient savings to survive the year without poker.

So now I'm looking for somewhere fantastic and cheap to live while I enjoy my 12 months off.

BA appeals to me as it is a nice temperature, cheap, I can learn Spanish and the people are reportedly very nice. Also their visa enforcement looks pretty slack, so even if we overstayed our visa we'd get off with a slap on the wrist.

I'm also considering Panama, but I'm put off by the temp there, which is too hot (I don't mind humidity).

QUESTION

So the question is.. where in Argentina would you recommend living?
I'm leaning towards BA as the most info is avail on it and I could do a visa run conveniently. Does anyone have any fantatsic cities they've been to that have great internet, are beautiful and cheap?

On a side note i'd love to learn BJJ, so if that was available it'd be a bonus.

Cheers
Paul
