Direct English have made me an offer:
6500 a month basic
1500 housing
500 travel
health cover
Is this a decent offer for uk passport holder with a BA in Philosophy, only 1yrs experience in UAE at a british curriculum school and part time work with Berlitz? No Celta yet.
Is it worth it? |

There may be places offering less than this but I have not heard of them.
This really is an entry-level offer. You do not mention location and I wonder what sort of housing you will get for the housing allowance they offer you. |

With no CELTA (so no British Council work) and no MA the offer is about right. There is a lot of competition for work in Saudi these days so that offer is about right. The housing offer is the same as you would get from King Abdul Aziz/King Saud Uni without a Phd (18,000 a year).
I'd go for it.

You should try and find out about the working conditions at the place. If it's in Makkah, you can always go for Umrah and try and speak to one of the teachers there to find out how they feel.
