|
|
Hello,
My boyfriend and I will be moving to Barcelona in July and attending the CELTA course. We dont have a lot of money and would be looking for a place to live until the course is completed in August. It might be possible that we wil live here permanently.
Can anyone give any suggestions on what areas in Barcelona are cheaper than others?
How hard is it to find a place for two people?
Do you pay rent monthly?
Should we secure a place before arriving?
Are there any websites you can recommend that will help us find a place?
Any other advice would be great.
Thank you for your help! |

Hi,
Best website I've seen - & thanks to whoever it was recommended it - is loquo.com.
Also good for jobs teaching English.
As to the best place to live in Barcelona, I think Gracia is pretty cheap/nice ... tho some of the housing is pretty old.
Look for somewhere within walking station of a Metro line - not an FGC nor Renfe line (there are 3 separate train systems running through BCN, snuggle up to the Metro system & you save on train fare & time).
Rent is generally paid monthly, with a month's rent in advance as a deposit.
Place for two of you? No idea sorry. There is an aweful lot of accomodation here though.
I suspect it's better to stay in a YHA or other hostel when you get here so you can find somewhere whilst here ... the adds you may answer don't give much information, can be pretty misleading, & you really need to look at whatever place you're thinking of moving into. Some of them can be pretty poor, & there's a wide variation in the quality of what you might get, even at the same price point.
Anyway, good luck.
Iam. |
