|
|
I've been in BA for about a month now. I've been subbing for two institutes that send teachers to give classes in companies.
These two institutes I've been working with hand you a bad photocopy of a bad textbook and tell you to start teaching. They're poorly organized and have crappy materials. The only thing they really seem to care about is that you are a native speaker, and that you're another source of revenue for their company.
I have a CELTA, but I have no experience, and I know I need to improve my teaching. Now, I don't want to sound naive, I know this is a business, but are there any English schools that give a flying flip how good your teaching is and how they might be able to help you improve it?
Thoughts, suggestions? Should I stay with these institutes as classes start or should I look for something else? |

Gigisehr-If you avoided all the institutes that just gave you a photocopy and sent you on your way you would probably never work again as a teacher in Buenos Aires!!!! This is the way it is everywhere here!!! |
