I heard that some time back HCT were using a textbook from Garnet Publishers called 'Skills in English'
Comments ? Preferably not defamatory ! |

I have used the series and found it not very good. It was kind of like watching a low budget movie. Bits of it were good but that is about it. Sorry |

I agree. I have used the reading resources book for extra reading or to introduce a topic, but in general I wouldn't use it again. |

Skills in English is totally lightweight, and it's inconvenient having it in four separate book(lets). I've all but told my students to put it into their trash. HCT woz conned. |

Are you still using it ? Has anyone asked Garnett Publishing for their money back ?
I understant that UGRU in Al-Ain have also used it. Maybe still are. |

If you look at the inside cover, I think you might see that UGRU/UAEU collaborated on the series - this might explain something. I also think various HCTs have abandoned it. |

I don't think anyone at HCT is using it anymore, not at my college anyway. |
