Has anyone completed the "i 2 i" online tefl course advertised on this site?
Did you find it helped your teaching or job hunting?
Is it worth doing an online tefl until I have time to do a celta/delta?

It's discussed to death in dozens of threads. Use the 'search' to take a look: the consensus tends to be that online certificates are only a piece of paper. If you want to be hired by a school that only wants a piece of paper, have it at. |

I took the "I to I" and was satisfied with it. I did it on my summer vacation from teaching. I was able to focus and I had a tutor/teacher who had many years of experience and I got some great advice from him. Now on the other hand, the "I to I" message boards are filled with negative comments.
Currently I am tutoring ESL on the weekend and still have my job during the week. One more thing, I was able to get a discount on the course by calling them.
Best of luck.

SOME training is better than NO training.
So . . . if your time and budget allow only for online training - shop around and get opinions (as you are doing).
If you decide you like the career - at some point it will be quite worth getting a full-Monty type course with observed teaching practice. |
