I can't seem to get much info about the total amount of vacation period a typical EMB NET gets.

I know there is some variation from school to school. For those of you out there, can you please list the total number of weeks per year that you are getting in guaranteed vacation time. Let's compile an audit!

Any job I go for - I want a min. of 6 weeks vacation in total. Has anyone not gotten even this?

You are supposed to be entitled to 90 days.
This is made up of statutory holidays plus time off at Christmas - around 10, Chinese New Year, again around 10, Easter 8 -10 and summer. I have had 4-5 weeks every year. You also have to remember that Saturday is a working day here if you get an am/pm school you will be expected to work every second Saturday.

Hmm, your 4-5 weeks falls well short of the 12 weeks in '90 days'... Sad

I am assuming that the 4-5 weeks refers to the summer vacation period only and not to the total holiday time.

You are correct Once Again. The 4-5 weeks are just the summer. I haven't actually calculated if I do get 90 days in total but I am one of the lucky ones who has never really had a problem with holidays and am not asked to come in to do 'holiday' work.
As with everything in HK it all depends on your Principal. I know of NETs who get more than I do.
