Hi,
I need some advice or information before I go off to the Japanese Embassy to get my work visa.
Okay, here is the deal I have a job teaching English in Japan. I have to buy the airline ticket. I am not interested in buying a round trip ticket for one year after the date of departure. I want to leapfrog from Japan to another country, other than my home country, afterwards. I have no idea where I want to go yet. I want to buy a round trip ticket through a consolidator to get the cheapest ticket possible. As a result, I need to have a return date 2 weeks after my arrival. Will the fact that I have a working visa for one year and the return date on my ticket 2 weeks after arrival give me any problems when I arrive at immigration? If I just explain the situation will immigration:
1. Understand?
2. Turn me around ASAP?
3. Expect me to be on my flight back in two weeks time?
Thank for any information.

If you get the certificate of eligibility in your passport for your work visa, it is possible that customs will see your return date and wonder what the heck is going on.
Change it to an open ended ticket. |
