***I probably could have done a search on this, but I'm hoping for more up-to-the date info/ an open dialogue and advice***
Hi there,
I am a US citizen with 3 years TEFL/TESL experience (2 in Korea, 1 in Africa). I have my TEFL diploma via bridge-lingutech and additional training by the US Peace Corps. I have no recent European ancestors (all at least 300 years ago), so I can't get an EU passport. Where can I teach? Any advice is also highly appreciated. Note further, money is not an issue assuming there is enough to live off of. |

Do you have a uni. degree? That will increase your options. |

Assuming you have a BA/BS - and with your training and experience - I would think you could teach pretty much anywhere in Central and South America, the Far East, the Middle East, Most of SE Asia, some North African countries . . . will that get you started?
I was in the Peace Corps in Africa in 89-91 - but I am not sure of the TEFL employment situation there.
If you have interests in specific countries - the individual country forums here will have much more specific information. |

I believe that, in several EU countries, as long as you can provide written evidence of descent, you can gain citizenship. If you are one of the lucky people who can trace their ancestry that far, the number of years that have passed is meaningless! |

I heard its so for Germany. Anyone know of a website for this... might be kinda cool to get EU citizenship... though Id prefer Norway - more emotional ties but the German ones might be easier to prove |

I was in Francistown Botswana - about 80 km from the Zimbabwe border. Probably a far easier posting that Mali! |

They're all hard posts, lets not kid, but they are all well worth it. Actually, I am currently in the process of re-enrolling. I only inquired here to find alternatives, in case of... |
