Hi, I'm new to this board but I've reading posts for a while. I've read over and over again that the UAE is a place only for qualified teachers with a lot of experience. Well, I'm not qualified but I've been working as a primary school teacher in an "American school" in Egypt for two years. My fiance is in Dubai and I'll be moving there by the end of this year. We will probably be staying in Sharjah. So the question is, is there any possibility that I can find a teaching job there? I'm not looking for a high paying job- just something to keep me busy and doing what I love to do. If anyone has any advice, I'd greatly appriciate it. Thanks!!!

This depends on whether or not you have a degree of some kind. All private primary schools (as far as I'm aware) require teaching staff to have a degree. There are schools who will employ you without a primary teaching degree, as long as you have a degree in something. The SABIS schools (Choueifat) for example, recently discussed on this board.

The other option depends on whether you will be moving to Dubai as a wife or fiance. If you will be on your husband's sponsorship, and you don't have a degree, there are nursery and pre-schools where you may find employment as a teaching assistant based on your previous experience. If you come to Dubai and are not married, you will find it more difficult, as you need sponsorship and will find this impossible to get without qualifications.

Good luck!
