Hola! I'm new here... I've been reading the forum and find it all really interesting to read about everyones experiences as foreigners living in mexico. I'm a university student, and I just came back from spending a week at UDLA in Puebla. I loved it dearly and want to apply to graduate school there. I'm wondering a few things- if anybody has any advice, in general, about making the move, and about UDLA too. Also, since this is an esl forum and all (: does anybody know what the job situation is like for esl teachers in that area? It seems like a job I'd enjoy while I'm down there.
Thanks!!

I live in Cholula and work in Puebla. There is work here. You can probably pick up some hours teaching at the Ibero University in Puebla and may even be able to get some at UDLA itself. I covered someone's teaching at UDLA for a few weeks and it seems a nice place to work if a little snooty. There are a couple of bilingual private schools where you could work also, although it depends on what age you're comfortable with teaching.
If you don't mind stray dogs, dust and lots of noise then Cholula is just right for you.
Feel free to PM me. |
