I've been offered a position in Oman (Muscat) which pays 75% of what I'm currently earning in the UAE. I'm thinking of moving as I believe the job will be more satisfying and the country more interesting. Has anyone made this move? I'd be grateful to hear of your experiences particulary in terms of:
standard of living on 900 riyals a month (+ free housing)
student motivation
local culture

I've moved both ways through the years. There are advantages and disadvantages to the choice, and most depends on your interests - and the employer.
So, who is the new employer? Where would you be located? Have you communicated with any current or past teachers at this new place? Perhaps you may want to send me a private message and tell me who the new employer is... if you don't want to put too much information out in the public here.
Personally, I prefer Oman... JMHO...
