Hi
A friend has moved up to the boonies north of Medan, somewhere in Aceh. I don't think that he is on the coast.
Can anyone provide any info?
He says that the whole area is wonderful, beautiful, cheap. The people are kind, no problems mentioned. He lives about 50km from a provincial town; at least, that's where he says the nearest ATM is....although money there lasts for weeks.
Is there any Tefl work up there? Public schools? Anything? Or is it just post-Tsunami NGO stuff and rebuilding?
Any hints gratefully received,

Hmm, I've seen ads from a few NGOs who are wanting to start TESL work there. Aceh has a small population (about 2.5 million) and is one of the poorer provinces in Indonesia, so they simply don't have the incomes to support a TEFL industry. Thus, I would think any word you'd find would be with NGOs or charitable groups. A few of the jobs listed here are in Aceh. |

You also need to remember that Aceh has now imposed shariah law. |

What does that mean for my non-existent (now) rocknroll lifestyle?
