Hello, anybody know anything about being able to get a free medical check-up. I read on several sites that everybody is entitled to a free one once a year. Is this true, and if so, how do I go about getting one? I think most insurance companies do not cover check-ups...

Talk with your company. Many companies in Japan have a day where everyone in the company gets their annual health check-up.

if your company doesn't help, you could always ask the local gov't. office.

I get a check every year, but the whole system is pretty lame. It is just a quick chest X-ray followed by a urine test, a blood test, and a weight check.

There's an option to talk to a doctor about any concerns you might have, but generally they are too busy to sit down and have a chat with you about chest pains, bleeding anus, etc.

OK thanks. I just need a check up for a new job Im starting. It would be nice if I don't have to pay for it, thats why I want to look into this supposed free one.
