All these complaints about being an Interac ALT, cant quite get it myself. I find the job to be such an easy number that at times it doesnt even feel like I have a job. I have to stay in this place all day but thats the only problem, whilst im here, Im not doing much.

So that brings me to my point. What do you do to fill up your time? I have nothing to do at the moment, nothing to prepare etc. I have a Japanese textbook with me, so ill have a look at that after lunch for a couple of hours. Any suggestions? I think that reading a novel isnt a good idea though, also sport is out of the question. cant see the point in sport you see.

Has anyone come into any trouble for studying too much or reading a book etc?

Steve

P.S. Sorry for my utter lack of apostrophees, just that the button doesnt appear to be working.

Study Japanese. Or come up with some long term project like writing a book. It will appear that you are working.

PS: The apostrophe is likely hiding under shift+F7

I had the same problem. I work for a BOE and have a LOT of free time in the office (generally every afternoon) and was going a little stir crazy.
I begun my Master of Education as a way to use this time a little more constructively. I do one on-line subject a semester and it doesn't eat much into my personal time as I get most of it done in the office. No one cares what I am doing as long as I am at my desk.

I sometimes do kanji practice.

I sometimes ask the English teachers if they need help with anything at that time, or want me to prepare anything for the future.

I also think of more games for the ES and lesson planning.
