Can anybody please illuminate me re: the possibilities of renting work spaces, showing art, etc., etc. in any city there?
Also: any data re: prices of art supplies? Would you suggest that I bring a case of paints/brushes/ etc. with me?
any URLs that you find useful would be appreciated...
I wish that I could be there for ArtTaipei 2006

I don't know about supplies and spaces, but if you like contemporary art you need to visit www.juming.org.tw. Its a huge gallery / park area in Yangminshan National Park (or it's fringe).
Finding it was always a bit of a hit and miss affair as I rarely took a map with me on the scooter. As I remember its about two miles from the coast, about 10km east of Danshui.
It is quite a surreal experience and one of the least talked about places around Taipei. Definitely worth a visit, even if you don't like art. |
