Cool ni men hao:

I have posted this question here before (without response)...and I am doing so again with the hope that someone may have some new insight or direction(s) for me.

Do any of you, or anybody that you know, rent out their home while teaching overseas? I do not want to sell my home when I leave for another overseas stint in TEFL/TESL... Confused

I appreciate any URLs or comments that you may have.....

This is the one my family and have used in Baltimore. They will rent the property, find tenements, screen them and even evict them if they don't pay the rent. These type of property management services are quite common in the US but they take a nice commission too.

I used to rent our my home in England. I used a property manager, who worked out of a real estate office. Their service was total, they did anything and everything. It's not cheap, they took about 15% of the rent a month and charged quite a lot for repairs and such, but I feel for peace of mind it was worth while.

Holy Smoke!

If you can afford a HOUSE why the heck would you want to bother teaching overseas? Just curious.

well... I almost PMed you, but I'll respond here:

After leaving my career as an educator in public schools, I went to Korea and got BURNED by my school's "director". Evil or Very Mad Razz

I decided to return home and to work my tail off so that I could get into a house...

...thats it. Just a desire to have a "nest egg" that appreciates every year...

What could be better, take out a loan (mortgage) and get someone else to pay the repayments!!! Laughing Rolling Eyes Wink Smile Very Happy

It's a bloody good idea if you have the cash and it's a great investment.
