Hi. I am thinking of going to HCMC to teach at some point in the immanent future. I have heard mixed stories about getting jobs there the main thing being that you just turn up and find a job while you are there. I would prefer to get a job secured before I go. However I have only really seen one school in HCMC that advertises. (ILA). Could someone write a list of decent schools in HCMC that recruit from overseas, preferably those that provide airfare.. I have only just started researching and thought I would post this to aid my research as it seems a good place to get info. |

Snaff is right - first turn up then look around.
If you secure something before you get here you will probably get a package that is worse than what you would get on face-toface hiring. |

Any friendly advice or tips for a girl who's just showed up in HCMC looking for first teaching post?
I have a Trinity CertTESOL and a bachelor of science.
Can't seem to find much info on addresses of schools - got a couple - ILA, Apollo, and USA Society School of Languages... been looking about for some kind of yellow pages with no luck...
Are there any notice boards about town that I should be checking for vacancies??
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks

Ay_Me, with the Trinity Cert, why don't you try the English department at RMIT? They find it difficult to find qualified lecturers and offer probably the best package in town. |

thanks for the advice Eagle of the legal variety.
I have sent an application to RMIT but not hopeful as I think they want someone with more experience than my humble self...
do you work for them by any chance? |
