Hi anyone that can help,
I am a mid 20 something female from England and am planning my first tefl work abroad and want to go to Bangkok, I have been offered a position at Kings College there, has anyone worked for them or know if they treat their teachers well or know anything good or bad about them as i am quite clueless so far. Starting salary is 35000, is that ok?
if anyone has any info, would be grateful if you could share it |

Hello there
King's College was my first teaching post, and all things considered I think it is a good place to start. They have three branches in bangkok, and generally have a pretty decent crowd of people working there, a good mix of newbies and some who have been teaching in thailand for a few years. It's a hassle free place to work, where new teachers are allowed to develop their teaching without someone looking over you, but plenty of experienced hands to give you ideas and advice.
Certainly no horror stories form this school!!
Please feel free to PM me. |

I'm teaching at King's at the moment and can confirm that it's an ideal school to start at. I think you'll find the starting salary is 33,000 baht though.
The Thai staff are excellent (at my branch anyway) and efficiently sort out all the paperwork, work permit etc. It's mainly teaching badly behaved, spoilt, rich kids at the weekends but there's a nice mixture of adult and business classes and intensives (one-to-ones) during the week.
Good luck! |
