I was never able to crack this nut. My best attempt was to consider:
Western/ My System
100% = 100%
90% = 98%
80% = 96%
70% = 94%
60% = 92%
50% = 90%
Failure = 89%
All students could be ranked just the same. Judging by the students' reactions when I showed them a 90%, they understood what it meant. Does anyone agree with this? How did you assess students? Did you believe a 50% showed up on a report card becasuse that's what you judged it as? Probably a better way would be just to write: excellent, good, satisfactory, needs improvement. Then let the school assign a grade based on this. |

| last semester we were told to assign our students up to 40 points. in order to pass, students needed at least 60% of that, or 24 points. it was pretty clear cut. or maybe i'm misunderstanding the post? |
