Which country has the friendlyest students?  Is it hard to live there?

Depends on credentials and experience... depends on cost of living vs salary... Not to mention that the first concept that "The Middle East is very rich" is completely wrong. Much, of not most, of the Middle East just happens to be from poor to very poor.

Thankyou Mark, that's more like it. Yes I mean generally you can say what is beter pay. I mean now I am in Japan and thought about China but Japan pays more. So my question was like that asking generally the better pay.

Ok bad choice of words, sorry. I mean yes who is more comfortable to teach. I think friendly can help, respectful polite and hard working is alos good of course.

Well here is an example. ..Iran might be not a safe place now are there other places where you can have worries and other places with not so much that is good in it for you. I heard that in Saudi Arabia you cannot date women or go to MacDonalds with your wife.  Is this really true? |

All of these topics have been discussed endlessly on this board. Take some time and read!!!
If you have to ask the infamous 'can I date' question, you need to get some basic knowledge by reading what is already here and not expect us to continually re-invent the wheel.
It reminds me too much of my students that refused to use the dictionary to spell a word because it is 'easier' to just ask the teacher.
There is no "best" country as it depends on your education, experience, (and interests, goals, and and and...). The fact that Saudi Arabia and the Emirates pay the highest doesn't matter if you don't qualify for any of those jobs.

Ok, but if you are married (I am not at the moment. Still single  ), is Saudi Arabia not a good place to bring your wife? And for single men it must be bad too. So, I am trying to see if the pay balances out the hardships in a comprehensive way (a poll of those in the know).

It seems to me that the question of a wife being happy in Saudi doesn't relate to your poll very much. Sounds more like question for the Saudi section of the board... (try using the search mechanism on that board and see what you can find... it has been discussed many times there)
But, it depends on how well the wife can adjust to life there. It is the only country in the Gulf that will put any restrictions on her. I have found a high divorce rate among the Saudi set... life there has been the breaking point for many. You would probably be better off discussing it with your 'non-existent' wife.

| My two cents: living in Egypt afforded me wonderful holidays, a savings, and many day-to-day comforts that I could not get whilst living in the UAE. Best pay? No, but the buck stretched a great deal further. |

I haven't been there, because I'm not allowed to go there due to visa restrictions, but I'm going to say Saudi. But that's just becuase I'm not allowed to drive a car there.
Qatar is pretty strict. There is only one liquor store and you must be a resident and pay 1000QR to purchase anything there, and there are limits to how much you are allowed to buy per month.
On the other hand you can get beer or any other kind of alcohol from the hotel restaurants and bars.
My only pet peeve is that you aren't allowed to drink outside, by the pool. That's the only time I really want to drink.  |
