Hey, I just was curious about this. Do most schools care if you shave or not? Are many of you ESL men teachers sporting a beard these days? Do ESL schools have policies on this?

I've heard of some schools having a policy against facial hair. There are no rules regarding it where I teach, but most teachers don't bother trying to grow a beard: it's too dang hot! |

Did you mean THE MALE TEACHER & BEARD DILEMNA? Im trying to understand the title. Seriously. Our owner wears a beard, so I am certain that you can. However, I am certain you wont want to. Is650, I seem to have lost your e-mail. Can you PM it to me? Your buddy, cwc |

i had a short beard the whole time i taught in veracruz state (at the Tec). it was fairly informal, nobody ever cared about my facial hair but it was long enough that it didn't look like stubble and trimmed enough that i didn't look like grizzly adams. i can't even imagine an employer "banning" facial hair, unless you looked like crap.
moustache factor in mexico is running high. i would say 80% in some parts of the country, so it would be ridiculous to say you can't grow a moustache.
just my thoughts. |

This doesn't really contribute to the conversation in a meanful way, but here goes...
My uncle who is a retired midwestern farmer, took to growing a beard because he claimed it was COOLER in the summer (kept the sun of his skin). |
