Where is the best country to work in? Confused

Alot of people have different ideas, money, people, food, ladies Wink

? So let's do a survey and find out...Please feel free to add your comments.

My preference is Thailand - for a variety of reasons. But, wages are just okay - not great. Reasons: Overall quality of life, gentle friendly people, great food, low cost of living, great medical care.

When I need to stash some money - Korea is where I go - but the quality of life is not as good as Thailand. Reason: Money only - but the quality of life is better than most "money" destinations. The people are a bit chary of foreigners, drink and fight a bit too much, and the overall level of dishonesty in contracts is a problem. But . . . the wages allow good savings, a lot of travel, and a lifestyle where one can save US$1000 a month without counting pennies.

I said "Other" since, so far, the US has been the best in terms of job satisfaction (hours, students, curriculum, coworkers).

I did love Japan and the futuristic lifestyle, though. I must be getting old...

Neither of the countries I've taught in are shown in your list, so I can't answer.

I think the question is too wide open to answer. The reasons I like a country differ too much from why others might like/dislike the same place.

Unless you limit this vote to people who have worked in at least three or four different places, and even that isn't really enough is it? What use is this pole? The winning country would just be the one where the most teachers have worked in.

I've only worked in Germany & China, and of those two China wins pretty easily. The money goes further, it's easier to have a pretty varied social circle, I find it a more interesting country to live in & my students here are usually more interesting to work with.

Oh, and I've never been arrested here Wink

I loved Ukraine for every reason except salary, which was paltry.
I am enjoying Russia for much the same reasons with a better salary (though it's more expensive).
I would say Argentina, hands down, except finding a job there can be difficult (at least at was for me).

Ecuador! Mountains, jungle, cloud forest, beach, and the world's best avocados, all within easy weekend travelling distance!

Salaries suck out loud, of course, but that's part of the charm.

Well in regards too food, one thing is pretty widely accepted. Korean food is not very good.

As for my favorite place to live so far, it would be Germany. I love the night life. Korea is a little boring unless you live in Seoul. Despite that, the people are very friendly.
