Hey everyone,

I hope my questions don't drive you all mad. I've searched the forum but didn't really find what I was looking for.

I have BA in English, no certificates of any kind or teaching experience. I want to teach in Turkey and have been told that you don't necessarily need the TEFL certificate.

I have some savings. If I just hop on a plane in June and arrive in Ist, what do you think my chances of finding a decent job are? I'm a 25 f, don't know much Turkish but I do know a little Persian (might help). Never been to Turkey but have done a bit of traveling.

I'm not easily intimidated, down for an adventure, capable of living simply...

I was just accepted to a Japan program and sadly realized I don't really want to go to Japan. So here I am. Sound crazy? Well, it is.

Yes. June. Not much work 2 b found then.

A certificate of some sort is required to work legally in Turkey. As well, you should really wonder about any school that would hire a teacher without any experience or training.

The training a "proper" certificate program can give you is also very valuable in the classroom. It is one thing to know the grammar, it is quite another to know the best ways to teach it.

Get your teaching cert. Coupled with your BA in English you should be able to get better jobs.
