Hello there
Can anyone tell me anything about the town of Maizuru?
All i know is that there is a sea port and a castle. Sounds nice.
Anyone out there? |

It's on the Japan Sea and it's pretty small. The town itself is not particularly remarkable but it should be a good place for immersion in Japanese society because it has a very small foreign community (the occasional Russian cargo ship). It takes about two hours from there to Kyoto and about three hours to Osaka so those cities are not really in range for day trips.
One of the nearest attractions is Amanohashidate a sand bar that is supposed to be one of the three most beautiful places in Japan...when you look at it upside down with your head between your legs!
I am guessing that you will be working for GEOS as that's the only eikaiwa I know of in the area. |

If there were ever a reason not to move to a place called "Maizuru" it would be having to write your own address.
The kanji for "Maizuru" is a BEAR!

ooh thats so funny, jimdunlop.
i went to take look at the place,
very luscious countryside surrounds it.
apparently not many wild animals up there though.
so angrysoba, are you near maizuru then?
i think i might accept the poz.
it is rumoured stars can be seen from there... |
