One of my favorite parts of Korea was the abundance of great spas.
Does Taiwan compete on this front?
How common are they, and how much does entrance cost??

Thanks!

The big spa area close to TP is Beitou. Shin Beitou to be exact. Most of these places looked really expensive judging by the cars parked out front. However, there is a public hot springs just a short walk from the MRT station that I really liked. Various pools starting with the hottest (REALLY HOT) water at top and then getting cooler as it is channeled to lower pools. Also a cold pool. The water is flow through and completely drained every 2 hours so it is clean. Changing rooms and showers. Best part of all was the price: 40 NT for 2 hours!!!!! You have to pay 10 NT extra for a locker.

Take the MRT to Shin Beitou. Exit the station and go toward the park across the street. Stay on the left side of the park and to uphill about 100 yards. You will pass a large and older style house that is now a museum. Just beyond it is a walled enclosure on the right that contains the pools.

Good hiking in the hills above town. There is some sort of Aboriginal museum on the ground floor of the tall hotel building across from the park.
