Hi
Can anyone recommend some training material (preferably publication) which is appropriate for a student whose English is currently pretty poor but who has a sole target of reaching 6.5 in ielts.

He has recently taken the test and scored 4.5 overall with a 3.5 on listening and 5 on speaking.

All the ielts stuff out there (IELTS training books) is too high for him I think. He needs similar kind of exercises/tasks to those in ielts publications and tests but just toned / dumbed down a little. Then he could possibly go onto a standard ielts training publication.

I could go through the laborious task of grabbing bits and pieces off the net but if anyone has any suggestions on alternative stuff or an appropriate textbook, it would be highly appreciated.

best
