Are you sure the typo wasn't in the 18 contact hours and 15 office hours. 33 hours a week!

That would be well worth doing for 66,000 a month! Heck, that's a damn good salary even in London!

If you asked me a few months ago, I would have said yes. However, after beating my head against the wall for about two months, I've been brainwashed by those who would have us believe outrageous salaries. Today, I say it's 100% real. English teachers deserve more than that. The sky's the limit.

I'm going along with saint57. Only RMB66000 each month? For 33 hours a week we shouldn't take less than RMB88000 each month. Wink

It could be a new Chinese ploy. Offer a high salary in the application, make the same typo in a few e-mails (if bothering to reply at all), get the foreigner to come over. Take Him/Her for a meal, give timetable and be out of office when foreigner realises true salary.

If collared by foreigner 1. blame previous managment, 2. blame reqruitment company 3. blame language barrier (higher numbers don't translate so well) 4. Admit guilt (while hell is freezing over).

I will bet my life somebody will fall into that trap.

Damn!!! I'm between 22 and 50. Oh man!!!! I'm also a native speaker. That's it, I'm applying. All of the wizards on this board told me that there would be a pot of gold in English teaching. This is the greatest day of my life. It will be the second greatest once I get the job, which I'm sure to get because I have all of the qualifications. BOOOOYAAAAA!!!!!!!!

I contacted them to point out their error and to tell them I was seriously interested if they really are offering that much. They wrote back and said something like, "Thank you for your reply . . . " Then I emailed them back again and this time he realized his error and said they would fix it.

PS: I'm not really interested in the job. Smile
