I've been in Argentina since January, and I just went to Colonia to renew my Visa. In June, I have to go to the US for a week and a half and return. Am I going to have any trouble getting back into Argentina coming through the airport since, technically, I didn't apply for a visa extensions? Is it too late to apply for a visa extension? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

Never done it through an airport, but it shouldn't matter that you didn't apply for any extensions. Argentina doesn't seem to be like Brazil (and a lot of other countries) where you can only be a tourist for 180 days in any one year - Each time you re-enter Argentina your 90 days starts again.

That is totally based on me crossing at Colonia/Buenos Aires, Clorinda/Puerto Falcon, and Puerto Iguazu/Foz do Iguaᅵu, not through any airports.

Frankly, it seems that as long as you don't look poor or Bolivian Argentine Immigration doesn't really care.

Of course, this might get tightened up.... and you might be the unlucky one... but the odds are against it.

Based on the experience of two friends of mine there isn't really any need to got Colonia at all. They went to an office here in BA where they paid a fine for overstaying (I think it was 50 pesos), and the week after went to Italy for a month. They had no issues on re-entry. I'll get more details about this as I imagine that it's of significance to a fair number of people on this board.

While we're on the subject, I just got back from seeing friends in New York, many of them illegal immigrants. I hope that people on this board will punish those who attack the people's right of freedom to establish their lives wherever they wish.

Hi

I need to go up to new york from Argentina within the coming month. I have no idea how to get a cheap flight up to NYC and which carriers offer the best deals. If anyone is here from the USA could you reccomend me some airlines to check out and guideline prices.

Thanks!
