Hello there. I'm in the MA English program at Brooklyn College-CUNY, which I should be finished with by the end of the year. In the meantime, I'd like to find a part-time (or full-time) ESL teaching job either in Manhattan or Brooklyn. I'm not as concerned about the amount of money, or even the type of teaching job, as long as I can get paid while getting some experience. The problem is that I have very little teaching experience, and no certification. For the past 2 years I've been volunteering at the Int'l Center in Manhattan tutoring conversation & writing students. Also, since December I've been teaching an intermediate conversation class to 25 students. I've enjoyed doing this but would like to expand my knowledge and teaching experience with regard to working with foreigners and immigrants. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks. |
