I have to do some traveling that will leave me in Hong Kong on a Saturday night. I plan to grab the ferry from the HK airport to Shenzen Airport / ferryport but I won't be able to catch a flight that night back to my Chinese City.

Does anyone know of a hotel that is good and close to the airport or ferry port?

I looked on Elong but I really don't know Shenzen well enough to know what's close to these areas.

I prefer to spend the night in Shenzen vs HongKong so I can try and catch an early morning flight from Shenzen to Chinese points North. Plus Hk hotels are way expensive now!

Hi Jeff

There's a hotel across from the airport, as soon as you come out the airport door you can see it. It's about 5 min walk veryeasy to get to, I have stayed there before. Price was ok and included a breakfast, rooms are clean and has a very small internet room to. Food was ok and price for the meals was acceptable

Does anyone perhaps know the name of the Airport hotel so I could book an advance room?

A hotel on the airport grounds would make life much easier.

The plan would be: Come in to Hong Kong, take ferry to Shenzen, Hop the free bus to the airport ( so I don't have to deal with the taxi crooks), then walk or take a shuttle bus to the hotel for the night and catch my plane the next morning.

This assumes my plane comes in ontime and I can catch the 8pm ferry to Shenzen.

Sunway Hotel is located opposite to Shenzhen International Airport, and is a 30-minute drive from the city center. The hotel features Western and Japanese restaurants, bar, beauty salon, gym, meeting room with 1000 capacity and a flower shop.

This it you think? Closest hotel to the airport?

Nanhai Hotel in Shekou is thisclose to the Ferry terminal to Hong Kong. Need more info, PM or email me.

Haha, the Nanhai Hotel near the Ferry Pier is a five-star house...expect to fork out ten red bills for one night!

Behind the Nanhai and next to the bar street is a much humbler establishment (but I forgot its name) that might charge half as much.
Frankly, there aren't any cheap hotels between Shekou and Bao'an and the airport! By "cheap" I mean less than 200 kuai! Hong Kong has far more affordable housing!
