Hi everybody, I'm off to start a new life in France.
It's been my experience that in every country there's some diabolically paid jobs and some lucrative ones. The best paid ones tend to be with the market leader in business English (in Spain, for example, English JEt). Therefore, I'm hoping somebody can tell me who the market leaders are in France. And their website. Failing that, any schools which do business English.
Furnish me with some useful details and I'll buy you a beer!
Ciao. |

It all depends by what you mean by "market leaders". Berlitz, Wall Street Institute, Telelangues, IFG Langues, Executive Language Services, Inlingua are all big schools but IMHO are to be avoided. Chambers of Commerce tend to pay well, albeit often by the hour. Find a nice business school. I know someone who landed a plum job in one. You can find a lot of addresses on the pagesjaunes.fr website. You're probably better off getting a few privates and doing odd hours here and there in schools though do avoid the self-employment scam and do make sure you're declared otherwise you won't get any medical cover. Find out if you get paid for travelling time as lots of schools in Paris basically flog their teachers to death through travelling for hours on the Metro. In short avoid the glossy brochure type of places. Some small schools who have been around a while are often better bets than the bright lights of the so called market leaders "profit leaders". You could always start by contacting all the Cambridge Examination Centre schools. In itself that's no guarantee often just going into a school and seeing the reaction you get from the receptionist will give you the best indicator. |
