I'd probably put Nagoya ahead of Osaka (in terms of teaching opportunities) ...

I can't specifically name other cities, but I would say around Saitama, Chiba, Ibaraki and Kanagawa.

in terms of population, Tokyo (8 million officially) and Yokohama (3.3 million) are the largest, followed by Osaka (2.4 million) then Nagoya (over two million) and I think Kyoto (1.4 million).
The Tokyo area has the most jobs. The economy in Nagoya is doing better than in Kansai, so maybe there is more work because of that.

I actually saw 4 or 5 jobs advertised in Tsuchiura/Tsukuba on Ohayosensei.com this week, an unusual surprise. Not much going in Ibaraki though. Mostly ALT work and some Eikawa stuff, and even that is mostly for kids. I've been lucky to pick up Business Classes in Tsukuba (R&D capital of Japan), but not much else happening here.
