When your one year contract was up, was it easy to find a new school and sign a new contract? What method did you use to find a new school? Email schools you like? Email specific job openings? Phone/visit in person?

Was your new contract easier to sign than your first China contract? Did your old school offer you a nice salary rise to stay, or did they just let you walk away and start over?

Did you have trouble trying to get a new Z visa, new Residence Permit, new Foreign Experts Certificate? Or was it easier than your first time?

Did you give yourself a great vacation between contracts? Where did you go for a cool vacation?

Unless you are able to find a new job through personal contacts, the methods for finding a new job from within China may be much the same as the ones you used to find one from without. You will probably need to obtain a release letter (saying you completed your contract) from your previous employer. The new employer will then renew your visa/residence permit in the name of their institution.

Your original school may invite you to renew your contract, or you may initiate discussion by telling them you'd like to return. You may be able to negotiate a modest (in my experience) pay raise if they wish to retain your services. Larger pay raises may necessitate your looking elsewhere (moving from a public university to a private university, company, or to another part of the country, for example).
