Apparently the W.H.O. data indicates that Jakarta has 30 days per year when air pollution in within acceptable limits. So for 335 days its dangerous to breath the air. But rest assured, the new anti-smoking laws will cut down on pollutants. how silly is that? |

Agreed. The concept that smoking outdoors will reduce pollution is in keeping with many other stupid laws.
As people will then smoke indoors, and certainly will NOT reduce the habit, the smoke has to go somewhere, presumably over folk trying to have a decent meal.
IMHO, one DAMRI bus, which has all the subtlety of a battle cruiser laying down a defensive smoke screen, would be equivalent to the entire JABOTABEK population stopping smoking for 10 minutes. |
