				| I am interested in becoming a SNET teacher in 2007. I currently have a B.S. in Business administration, a 120 hour TEFL and 4 years teaching experience(2 Thailand,2 Korea{1 year primary,2 years secondary,1 university}). Is it really worth the cost, time and effort to get a PGDE as I see less than $200 a month difference in pay(cost of a PGDE is around $3,000). I am 53 years old and plan to teach in Asia for 10 more years and then retire here. If it is a MUST have for Hong Kong can anyone tell me where I can do an online PGDE course that will be accepted and honored by the Net program? Also as I make between $3,000-$4,000 a month here( no housing) is the best money still in Hong Kong??? OPINIONS PLEASE !!![/b]

				| Category 7 (to be appointed at GM rank, MPS pt. 12-33, with salary bar at pt. 17)
 (i) a bachelors degree in any subject from a Hong Kong university or equivalent; and

(ii) a masters degree in TEFL/TESL; and

(iii) at least 1 years post-graduate experience of teaching English (preferably as a second or foreign language) at secondary level or above.

This seems the closest to your qualifications but I don't think your TESL is a Masters.
You can always try and see what they offer you. I have no advice about the PGDE though but if you intend staying in HK for a number of years it probably would be worth it in the end.

				| I just had a question about PGDE. What's the difference between PGDE and PGCE?
Also, has anyone here tried to embark on/completed a part time PGCE course at a local uni while already placed as a primary net? How has it been workload wise?
