Hi there
Just wondering has anyone worked for the Chinese Academy of Sciences 中国科学院, or know anyone who has? I have a job offer for the next academic year, and the school seems to have a good reputation, but would be good to have some neutral opinions of what working there is like.

I've always thought they were a bit exclusive to the point of never recruiting non-PC card holding foreign nationals.
We should congratulate you! It's almost like getting a job with China Daily. You will be watching the fray below you from a high vantage point.
The CHinese Academy of Sciences has a number of branches. I have never met anyone who worked for them, though. |

Cheers Roger
I've got in touch with them to say I'll take it, although the pay doesn't seem as good as some of the jobs I've seen on here (around 3800 for 14 hours teaching), I need to be in Beijing anyway and from looking at their website looks like an interesting place to work for a year. I'll post here about how it is once I've actually started. If anyone else is interested, their website was advertising for an english teacher in Shanghai last time I looked.
