I taught in a nearby college in 97-8, and had several friends there. The teachers seemed happy enough and stayed at least a couple of years each. They were Aussie/NZ types, and two Japanese.
It's just by a major intersection called San Li Dian. Lots of outdoor eateries, an easy 10-15 min bus ride to down town. Accommodation looked pretty basic, but back then most of it was. Went to some functions organised by the English students, eg Christmas Eve, and they were a happy bunch.
If you're interested in that part of China you could certainly do much worse.
I'm assuming its the same place: there are quite a lot of tourism courses running in Gulin. |
