Well guru - rather than assuming people don't like the UAE:

1. I find your list incomplete. What about ZU, AUS, AUD, SU and probably many more - for instance there are about 10 branches of HCT that have differing situations.

2. It depends on which choices you want on your message list of added options. This addition makes it even more difficult to answer.

These two things make it dang near impossible to say anything of much use. Few people want to spend a couple of hours answering this terribly open question.

3. At this time of the year the teachers in the Emirates are traveling - not wasting time on Dave's board. Smile Lucky them!!

guru is not an anagram. It is Indonesian for teacher. I live in Indonesia.

BTW, other intersting indonesian words are suami (husband) and sari (juice extract) . i'm very intersted in UAE and would love to know exactly what i'd be in for.

Guru--I was kiding. Try applying to the Undergraduate General Requirements Unit (UGRU) at UAEU in Al Ain. I've heard mostly good comments about working there.

UGRU (University General Requirements Unit) at UAEU in Al-Ain looked good to me. I had a look when I was at the TESOL-Arabia conference. Incidentally their job fair is a good place to test the job market.
