|
|
Does anyone know where I can find a one - two month contract teaching in Asia? I don't want to break a contract , but I only need work for a few months to finance my travels! I'd love to work in Japan again but they mostly want a year contract. Does anyone know of shorter contracts or casual work? |

Do an English summer camp or two. But watch out, they are pretty intensive so don't plan on doing any traveling during the camp.
If you're interested in one I know of a trustworthy recruiter. PM me for details. |

You are going to be dealing with visa issues. Who is going to sponsor you for a work visa for only a month or 2? Nobody.
Working for a month or two will not help you to break even in Japan, either. I'm sorry to sound so harsh, but you are being unrealistic. |

|

EF English First in China offered 2-month summer contracts when I was working for the organization. Four years ago, two Canadian junior year students (both from Oshawa, Ont. - I think they both attended Trent University in Peterborough, Ont.) came over to the Hankou (Wuhan) EF school and did their stint before returning home to complete their senior year.
They even got their return air fares paid in spite of being over here for such a short period of time, but, then again, their salary was (slightly) lower than that being then paid to the 6- or 12-month full-timers.
EF may still be offering such summer contracts now, so it is worth checking with them, so long as you are prepared to put up with a modest wage of about 4,500 RMB (about 567 USD) per month or thereabouts. |

Actually you can save money in 2 months in Japan...easily, Glenski... I lived there for 2 years. I know you can save money as long as you don't go out drinking like most people do. I saved a lot when I was there... and I travelled all over Japan as well! |

Sally, I've lived in Japan for 8 years and contributed to these boards at least that long. I know, too, that you can save money in Japan.
That was not the question. The question was whether you can break even on 1 or 2 months of working here. You can't. |
