I was recently offered a summer position in Taiwan through an org called "World Passport" http://www.worldppt.org/ .

The program is only about 2 months, pays for plane flight, room and board and a small stipend. It sounds too good to be true. Does anyone know anything about them?

Is it a scam? Will I be wored like a dog? Are the living conditions decent?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

50 US for a 25 hour week sounds a little low to me. You would spend that on a CHEAP night out in Taipei. You should get ten times that much.

The teacher is responsible for his own meals. There goes your stipend.

This gig is teaching high school and junior high school students? You should be getting 1000 times what they're offering. I've taught high school students here in the past, never again. It's the most soul-destroying experience you will ever have.

My advice is to take a year from whatever you're doing, come over and find yourself a teaching job, stay for the year and enjoy your time here.
